SUMMARY: This position normally requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering.
Responsible for independently applying advanced engineering techniques and analysis within the discipline. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive process experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
· Perform simple/complex process engineering calculations and develop process engineering documents using Aspen Plus or Hysys
o Process Engineering Calculations
o Process Design Basis
o Process Flow Diagrams/Utility Flow Diagrams
o Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
o Equipment data sheets
o Process Description
o Utility Summaries
o Instrument Data Sheets
o Control Narratives
o Hydraulic calculations for line sizing
o Relief Valve data sheets
· Perform simple/complex process simulations
o Optimize process configuration and equipment design
o Generate Heat & Material Balances
o Write simulation reports
· Develop Equipment data sheets for non-critical equipment
· Perform Simple Process Engineering Calculations
· Perform hydraulic calculations for line sizing
· Develop first pass documents and pick up comments from Sr Engineers for the following:
o Process Flow Diagrams/Utility Flow Diagrams
o Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
o Non-Critical Equipment Data Sheets
o Process Description
o Utility Summaries
o Instrument Data Sheets
· Perform more complex plant simulations
· Generate Heat & Material Balances
· Develop Control Narratives
· Develop Relief Valve data sheets
· Develop Process Design Basis
· Develop Data Sheets for more complex Equipment
· Perform more complex Engineering Calculations
· Approved as a quality checker for the following documents:
o Heat & Material Balances
o Process Flow Diagrams/Utility Flow Diagrams
o Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
o Equipment Data Sheets (Non-Critical equipment)
o Process Description
o Utility Summaries
o Equipment checks for FEED validation
o Complex Engineering Calculations
o Relief Valve data sheets
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
· Typically requires Seven (7) to Ten (10) years of relevant experience in downstream oil&gas
· Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering required
· Excellent computer skills including Aspen Plus or Hysys
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Experience with Petrochemical, Refining, Gas Processing/LNG technology
· Experience with above Process Design tasks
· Extensive process simulation experience preferred
