Purpose: The Organizing Capacity Coordinator is responsible for the development, execution and coordination of trainings, training programs, and other learning opportunities designed to enhance organizing, campaigner and leadership skills of union organizers within the SEIU IU organizing community and our affiliated local unions. The Organizing Capacity Coordinator must be able to assess the development of organizers at all levels from OIT to Coordinator level and identify their needs and opportunities to grow and advance to the next level of development and responsibility. The Organizing Capacity Coordinator must be able to design, conduct and facilitate trainings and learning opportunities in both classroom, online and other settings.
Primary Responsibilities: The Organizing Capacity Coordinator will be responsible for:
Direction and Decision Making: The Organizing Capacity Coordinator is a member of the staff development team of the SEIU Capacity Program (within the SEIU National Organizing Dept) and reports directly to the Capacity Program Director.

Physical Requirements: Work is generally performed in an office or training/conference room setting, but may be required to work in other settings conducive to performing the tasks required to complete assignments. May include work-site visits, rallies, strikes or other union activity. Long and extended hours are sometimes required as well as regular travel.
