Job Description

Must Haves:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Safety (must be a mix of warehouse and transportation)
  • Transportation/warehouse background absolute must
  • OSHA reporting/ DOT experience
  • CSA training/Hazmat training
  • Reporting and safety assessment and ensuring workers are living up to standards
  • Chemicals/training
  • Dispatch operations/DOT Regulations, equipment control, etc.

Plusses:

  • Experience working for an organization of 100 people or less (highly preferred)
  • Osha Cert
  • DOT Cert
  • Chemicals background would be a plus

Day to day:

Insight Global is looking to hire a Safety Manager to join the team at a leading 3rd party logistics company. Responsibilities include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Driver New hire applicant review
  • Assist Employee (iiX) background verification checks if Mike is not available
  • Assist New hire (Drivers) Application/Documentation /PSP Program
  • Assist with new drivers' orientation
  • Maintain equipment maintenance (logs and repair schedules) Trucks, Trailers and Chassis
  • Maintain outside/inside vendor repair services on equipment, audit and approve invoices for payment
  • Maintain driver Blue Books with current Permits, insurance/registrations, DOT, and Haz-Mat

(includes heavyweight & liquor)

  • Organize and maintain facility safety/compliance training for warehouse and transportation personnel
  • Maintain records and training schedule for East Coast Facilities; NJ, SC, GA
  • XRS Training
  • Maintain driver DOT files and logbooks
  • Ensure driver licenses, medical cards, TWIC, Hazmat endorsement and Sealink cards are up to date
  • Handle driver and warehouse incidents/accidents and inform CA and upper management
  • Handle employee accident investigations and maintain records (OSHA & PC365)
  • Address all safety concerns
  • Maintain and verify equipment inventory on a biweekly basis
  • Purchase & maintain IFTA & HUT permits for all vehicles
  • Maintain EZ-pass/transponder inventory (Bi-annual)
  • Maintain annual PSP file on all drivers
  • Maintain and review CSA report nationally, advise management and provide recommendations.
  • Communicate with CA regarding leased equipment (Penske/Ryder), the ins and outs of units under extended repair.
  • Maintain driver duty roster

Compensation:

$33/hr to $43/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
