Job Title: Patient Care Associate – Labor & Delivery

Job Location: Brooklyn, NY 11206

Shift: 11:30 PM-8:00 AM Rotating weekends & holidays required – candidate must be fully committed to the provided schedule

Pay: $25 to $28/hr

Contract:

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• AHA BLS Certification
• Completion of NYS Department of Health prescribed Phlebotomy training
• Completion of healthcare-based ECG training

Required Skills & Experience:

• 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery required
• Proficient in:
• Venipuncture & fingerstick specimen collection
• Performing & interpreting EKGs
• Assisting with patient preparation & medical examinations
• Sterilization & infection control procedures
• Basic life support & emergency first aid
• Patient communication & coordination across departments

Duties:

• Obtain vital signs , collect specimens, and perform basic screenings (urinalysis, vision, hearing tests)
• Assist patients and providers during exams; prepare rooms and instruments
• Administer basic first aid and BLS as needed
• Maintain and update patient charts, lab forms , and clinic documentation
• Escort patients and coordinate appointments and follow-up care
• Maintain inventory and stock of medical supplies and equipment
• Serve as part of the healthcare team , assisting with new staff orientation
• Operate electrocardiograph equipment to obtain heart tracings
• Support health education and promote safe living practices to patients and families
