Occupational Health Nurse

Job Overview:

Abbott is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to provide essential health services to our site employees. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience, a current RN license, and a bachelor's degree. The Occupational Health Nurse will manage employee health programs, workers' compensation cases, medical surveillance, training, and emergency response initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide immediate occupational health services, including first aid treatment and employee care.
  • Manage comprehensive employee injury and illness cases, including workers' compensation claims.
  • Administer medical surveillance programs, maintaining detailed logs, screenings, and documentation.
  • Oversee inventory and management of medical supplies.
  • Coordinate corporate occupational health and safety programs.
  • Conduct health and safety training sessions for employees.
  • Participate actively in emergency response preparedness and site-specific safety teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S), HR staff, site employees, managers, and supervisors.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at reducing Workers' Compensation costs through effective case management, return-to-work programs, and proactive prevention strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in occupational health or related field.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple programs effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with various stakeholders.
