What the Nurse Team Lead II does at Worldwide

The Nurse Team Lead II under the guidance of the Medical Group Manager is responsible for protecting the health, safety and welfare of research participants by observing strict adherence to local, state and federal regulations, Worldwide Clinical Trials (WCT) policies and procedures and the Nurse Practice Act. The Nurse Team Lead II will assist the Medical Group Manager in administrative duties as delegated by the manager. This may include participation in team evaluations, providing feedback and input in disciplinary actions, approval of timecards with strict adherence to WCT policy. The Nurse Team Lead II will act as a master trainer and resource to RN Team Lead I, Staff RNs and Paramedics in setting up and, performing various study related procedures they will provide direction and indirect supervision for to the Medical Group team to include RNs, Paramedics, phlebotomists, and technical staff in the absence of a FT Supervisor. They will adhere to all Worldwide Clinical Trials (WCT) procedures and study protocol requirements.

What you will do

  • Under the direction of Worldwide Leadership, oversees the hiring, performance and activities of all medical group team members.
  • Review and report out any findings to leadership, all study builds to ensure accuracy.
  • Oversees Oversight of all study procedures to ensure they are performed on time, following the study protocol and WCT EPS procedures.
  • Acts as the primary contact for subjects while in-house when the Clinical Research Coordinator is not available.
  • Act as a resource for medical group team members and educate team on adverse event reporting and how to deescalate a situation when subject adverse behavior is observed per WCT staff or protocol requirements while subjects are in-house.
  • Performs phlebotomy on subjects as needed at timed intervals.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve critical issues with medical equipment.

Your experience

  • Required: Associate’s degree in nursing with current licensure/certification with a minimum of 4 years nursing experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing with current licensure/certifications along with 2-3 years of supervisory experience and 3 years of clinical research experience.
