TAX SPECIALIST

Based in our NYC Corporate Office (not remote)

Purpose:

Research and deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations for USA, PR and Canada.

Responsibilities:

• Income Tax – assist with quarterly provisions, estimated payments, monitor notices.
• Withholding Tax – monitor and issue payment on withholding tax booked, prepare monthly and annual compliance and remittance.
• Sales and Use Tax – assist with monthly sales tax returns preparation, tax changes on the POS, and research of invoice taxability.
• Property Tax – preparation of information required for annual property tax obligations, review of returns, monitor and control bills.
• Unclaimed Assets – review and submission of stales items based on escheatment laws, preparation of affidavits.
• Provide support to obtaining and renewing business licenses
• Preparation of various additional tax filings as required by tax authorities such as importation declarations, gross receipt tax returns, bag fees, etc.
• Maintain and reconcile tax balances on general ledger to ensure accuracy
• Assist in preparation of supporting documentation during tax audits
• Work with the various accounting groups to obtain the necessary information needed to prepare tax obligations.
• Monthly and annual tax reporting to Parent Company
• Follow up on all compliance matters in regards of Taxes deadlines and obligations
• Research and analysis of various tax topics (CCH research experience)
• Posting and performing tax accounting entries
• Supporting other departments with tax requests

Personal Profile:

• CPA or BA Degree in Accounting/Tax/ACCA Qualifications
• Min 3 years’ experience in tax reporting and accounting
• Experience in a tax department within the Retail industry is a plus
• Strong MS Office and MS Excel skills
• Experience in Vertex O Series is a plus
• Experience with SAP is a plus
• Excellent strategic planning skills and able to interact with all levels
• Able to work independently and highly meticulous
• Must have completed 90 days introductory period in current position.
• Must be in good standing with respect to job performance.

Annual compensation range: $86,000 - $120,000 + discretionary annual bonus*
