Job Description

We are representing a top-ranked general contractor known for delivering high-profile commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. With a reputation for quality, safety, and on-time project execution , our client is seeking a General Superintendent .

The Opportunity:

As a General Superintendent , you will be a key leader in overseeing all aspects of field operations , ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage multiple projects, coordinate site activities, and foster strong relationships with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Site Oversight

  • Oversee and manage multiple job sites , ensuring smooth field operations.
  • Lead a team of superintendents, foremen, and field staff to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Develop and implement site logistics plans , ensuring efficient workforce and material movement.

Safety & Quality Control

  • Champion a safety-first culture , enforcing OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct regular job site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Resolve on-site challenges and ensure high-quality work is being performed.

Schedule & Coordination

  • Collaborate with project managers and schedulers to develop and maintain construction schedules .
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure workflow efficiency.
  • Identify and mitigate schedule delays , ensuring timely project completion.

Communication & Team Leadership

  • Act as the primary field contact for clients, architects, engineers, and city officials .
  • Lead daily/weekly site meetings and provide real-time updates on project progress.
  • Mentor and develop superintendents and field staff to foster professional growth.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Monitor and manage labor, materials, and equipment to control project costs.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to ensure timely material deliveries .
  • Support the project team in change order management and cost control strategies.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in field supervision for commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects .
  • Strong background in ground-up, large-scale, or complex construction projects .
  • Expertise in OSHA regulations, safety compliance, and quality control .
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or other construction management software is a plus.
