Facility Maintenance Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

American Pool is hiring a full-time, year-round Facility Maintenance Manager! This role’s main responsibility is overseeing a portfolio of pools within a geographic region. This position requires a variety of skills which include management and supervision of seasonal staff, performing small repairs, facility maintenance and customer service.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be responsible for a portfolio of commercial swimming pools.
  • Maintain a quality relationship with all facility property managers which includes responding to clients daily.
  • Hire, train and manage all seasonal maintenance technicians.
  • Coordinate the opening and closing of all seasonal swimming pools.
  • Maintain water quality and equipment at all swimming facilities including indoor accounts.
  • Recognize the parts and repairs needed at all facilities and report to the Service Manager.
  • Perform small repairs and other construction work as needed.
  • Conduct area sales by preparing proposals for products, repairs, construction, and service.
  • Ensure facility compliance with health department regulations.
  • Maintain databases of client information.
  • Attend any necessary client meetings.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, time management, and decision-making skills required.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel and the Internet required.
  • Clean motor vehicle record and valid driver’s license required.
  • Current Certified Pool Operator is preferred but not required. Training is available.
  • Previous swimming pool experience preferred.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule during the busy season from April through Labor Day.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to spend extended periods walking, standing, and sitting.
  • Occasional lifting of equipment or materials (up to 85 lbs).
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings and varying weather conditions.
  • Typically works outdoors for prolonged periods of time, often at commercial properties (apartments, condos, swim clubs).
  • The role requires working in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, or cold temperatures.
  • Travel between job sites or offices using a company vehicle or personal transportation may be required.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

  • Flexibility to work outside traditional office hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary to meet business and client needs.
  • Availability during peak seasons, such as summer holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day), when operational demands are highest.
